Description
This lot consists of a tempera painting on board, done in the soft, energetic style of modern artist Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944). This abstract image is a busy patchwork of color which ranges from sky blue to bright yellow. A charming addition to any collection. Framed dimensions approximately 20" x 15".
An affixed paper label on the reverse side features a handwritten inscription which reads, "Kandinsky. Sans titre. 1929." Additionally, a second paper label provides the name of a Parisian art gallery, and a third label reads, "Nina Kandinsky (N.N.A.)".
Kandinsky's creation of abstract work followed a long period of development and maturation of intense thought based on his artistic experiences. He called this devotion to inner beauty, fervor of spirit, and spiritual desire inner necessity; it was a central aspect of his art.
