[John F. Kennedy] Dallas Police & Secret Service Badges and Pin
A group of items related to the Kennedy Assassination and the murder of Dallas police officer Tippit on November 22, 1963. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist. The three badges include the following:
1960 Texas Rangers Dallas Star Badge. Measuring 2.5" x 2.5", Dallas, Texas, 1960. Pinback. With light wear and scratching.
Replica Police Badge Honoring Officer J.D. Tippit. Measuring 2.125" x 3", Dallas, circa 2013. A silver and blue police badge, produced by Ogden-based SymbolArts, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Tippit's death and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Displays Tippit's name, badge number, and date he was killed with "E.O.W.", meaning "end of watch." Dallas policemen were allowed to wear them throughout the month of November. Housed in the original SymbolArts metal case. Very fine.
Dallas Secret Service Headquarters Lapel Pin. Measuring 1.25" x 1", Dallas, Texas, no date. Designed to look like a cowboy boot, with a large spur and the retired Secret Service star. At the bottom of the boot shaft reads "DALLAS."
