The peaked back board with elongated hanging hole with nailed side boards having a beveled top edge, the proper right side board has an interesting cut that serves as an outset flange for the lower front board to butt in to while the top board spans the entire front, forged nail construction. The paint seems to be period original, there is good grime over the paint in the countersunk areas of the nails, the wear is consistent, the surface seems waxed. The age of the sponge decoration is not known but believed to be of the period.
