English Queen Anne longcase / tall case clock by James Jordan, Chatham, circa early 18th century, 11 inch dial featuring Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed "James Jordan / Chatham Fecit," wheatear engraved borders and applied brass spandrels with masque motifs, surmounted by lunette with circular disc decorated with sun face motif and flanked by spandrels with dragon motifs, under hood with inset pillars over Japanned black lacquered case with gilt Chinoiserie decoration including figures raised in relief in outdoor garden settings, the door with shaped blue glass lenticule, the interior with label: "Repaired By Camerer Cuss & Co., London." 86.75" H x 20" W x 10" D. With key, pendulum, and two weights. Movement partially complete and assembled. Provenance: Removed from a private residence at the Pierre Hotel.
