Provenance/additional info: What a luxurious array of glorious silk squares in this handsome quilt. Pieced probably from the workroom remnants of a tailor or dressmaker with access to the rich brocades, jacquards, and figured silks used for neckties, vests, dressing gowns, etc. Ruby red border. In near perfect condition - a few squares along one side show the beginning of fraying, easily remedied by covering with sheer netting. The wide ruby red silk border is a handsome frame for the multitudifferent patterned silks contained in the quilt. Simply quilted barely visible among the many beautiful prints that are a treat to inventigate
