Caroline M. Bell (Amer, 1874 - 1970) Gloucester Scene. c 1930 Abstract Impressionist Oil Painting on Canvas Board. Approx Painting Size: 20 x 16 - Approx Frame Size: 24 3/4 x 20 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.Good condition. Caroline Bell was a member and teacher of the group of painters–mostly women--called the Peconic Bay Impressionists who painted on the North Shore of Long Island and in Gloucester, MA between 1920 and 1950. Bell painted with Gruppe and Thieme, studied with John Carlson. Member: Rockport Art Association and North Shore Arts Association.
