AMERICAN / BRITISH BERLIN WORK NEEDLEWORK PICTURE, wool on canvas, gros- and petit-point stitching utilized, depicting an interior scene with figures in period clothing, featuring an explorer-type figure sitting in a high-back chair and holding a model ship, telling stories to three children, a lute and books lay on the floor in the lower right. Housed under glass in a modern gilt frame. Probably 20th century. 20 3/4" x 27 1/8" sight, 26 1/2" x 33" OA.
Excellent visual condition, one stitch near lower left corner likely missed in making, frame with minor wear and a few scattered losses/chips. Not examined out of frame.
