(MUG SHOTS--CHICAGO)
Two police department binders of over 100 standing mug shots of tough guys and gals, including one of noted gangster Martin "Moe The Gimp" Synder.
Additional VideoAdditional Video 2The albums depicting arraigned criminals, many photographed with their associates, and depicted with and without hats and outerwear in front of a curtained backdrop. Noted crimes range from abortion and sex crimes (numerous) to robbery and extortion. The majority depict men, with approximately 7 photographs depicting women. Silver prints, the images measuring 6x9½ inches (15.2x24.1 cm.), mounted recto only, the group photographs with the individuals numbered, in the negative, most of the pages with a typed caption below the image indicating the arrest date and arresting officer, subjects' names and basic descriptions, and about half with the crime; many also with handwritten notations, in pencil or ink. Oblong 4tos, one black and one blue leatherette covered boards, the blue binder with the City of Chicago Department of Police title, symbol, and the date 1956 printed on the cover; both twin-bolt bindings. 1930-51
