Description
Ca. 1800, mahogany and oak. Bonnet with broken arch pediment, brass rosettes and finials, turned pilasters. Case has cove molding under bonnet and waist molding, high cut out feet and lamb's tongue chamferedcorners. Painted sheet metal face signed "W. Fryer, York" with manor house. Brass works and pendulum, no weights. Age splits and some edge damage. 89"h.
Condition
03/15/21 Glass in bonnet replaced, old refinishing, overall edge wear, base and feet have wear, surface scuffs and insect damage to top right corner that has left mainly damaged veneer with some glued repair (nothing appears to be active). Capitals on bonnet have loss and some glued repair. Age splits in sides of case and bonnet, face is soiled with some crazing and minor inpainting mostly around added hands at bottom of face (glued on, do not function).
