Description
A pair of early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver and champlevé enamel napkin rings, probably Rasht circa 1910 Late Qajar dynasty, octagonal form with caulked and corded rims. The panels with chased monabbat-kari decoration of alternating arabesques, peonies with MacQueen’s Bustards, against a matted ground. Heightened with polychrome champlevé enamel. Unmarked. (2) Height – 3.9 cm / 1.55 inches Weight – 83 grams / 2.67 ozt Octagonal napkin rings were introduced in England from at least the 1890’s
