Native American, southwestern United States, Navajo tribe, ca. mid-20th century CE. A lovely pair of wearable collar necklaces of similar lengths formed with dozens of circular shell beads, known as heishi, in elegant hues of champagne, cream, and pale coral. The first necklace features a single strand of discoid shell beads with the thickest and largest at the center then gradually tapering on both sides towards each end. The chain is fastened by two metal hooks with column-shaped metal beads separating them from the shells. The second necklace is not only adorned with heishi, but also boasts five lustrous silver beads of an elongated rectangular cube form placed varying lengths apart, which increase towards the center. Like the first, both ends of the second necklace have metal clasps with cylindrical metal bases. Two stunning pieces from Navajo culture! Silver Quality: 94% silver. Size of largest: 15.5" L (39.4 cm); total weight of Necklace with silver: 2.5 grams.

Condition
Minor nicks and chips to beads on both. Silver beads and hooks have a nice patina. Intact and excellent.
