WALWORTH, Wis. – Mecum Auctions will commence its “road art” auction in Kissimmee, Fla., with approximately 1,500 pieces on offer starting Jan. 16. It will be one of the largest automobilia and petroliana sales of the year.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The south Florida auction scene will get a major new player when Antiques & Modern Auction Gallery conducts a grand opening auction on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 809 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern time. About 250 lots will come up for bid, mostly antiques, porcelain, bronze, sterling, original artwork and Asian objects.
LOS ANGELES (ACNI) – One of the most distinctive houses in LA’s exclusive Brentwood area is the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed George D. Sturges Residence. Built in 1939 by George D. and Selma Sturges, its later owners included actor Jack Larson, who resided there with his partner, writer/director James Bridges (d. 1993), after their joint purchase of the home in 1967. Larson died on Sept. 20, 2015.
