MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates’ first annual textiles and sewing auction on July 16 was a big success on many levels. Consisting of 404 lots, it was a small sale in comparison to most other auctions conducted by the firm. The offerings came from over 40 consigners and included material deaccessioned by the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

SAN FRANCISCO – PBA Galleries will offer over 200 lots of original artworks, prints and books on Aug. 25. Highlights of the auction include a sizable collection of etchings and lithographs by Max Beckman, an original watercolor along with several lithographs by George Grosz, paintings by Maurice Braun, Edgar Payne, Christian Jorgensen and other California artists, an original Madeline illustration by Ludwig Bemelmans, and the working archive of Baltimore artist Aaron Sopher.

LOS ANGELES – The Broad’s first visiting special exhibition, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors – the first institutional survey to explore the celebrated Japanese artist’s immersive Infinity Mirror Rooms – will embark on the most significant North American tour of her work in nearly two decades, and The Broad will be the only California museum to host the exhibition when it comes to Los Angeles in 2017.
