SAN DIEGO – New works from Southern California-based abstract expressionist painter Nina K will be exhibited as part of the ART San Diego at Balboa Park Activity Center 2145 Park Blvd. in San Diego, Nov. 3-6. These all new pieces are from her ongoing Pixel series, which she debuted early this year.

Buckskin war shirt expected to lead Allard Auctions’ Nov. 12-13 sale

MESA, Ariz. – A historic late 1800s Northern Plains quilled war shirt, an early 20th century fine weave Mission basket and a fully beaded Kiowa toy cradleboard from the early 1900s are three expected top lots at Big Fall Phoenix, an annual auction event held every autumn by Allard Auctions Inc., based in Saint Ignatius, Mont. This year’s auction is scheduled for Nov. 12-13. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Sapphire and diamond ring, $103,500, Cottone Auctions

A dazzling sapphire and diamond vintage ring in a gold and platinum setting sold for $103,500 at a fine art and antiques auction held Sept. 23-24 by Cottone Auctions in Geneseo, N.Y. Also, a Tiffany Studios leaded glass Geranium lamp with signed shade illuminated the room for $52,325; a two-piece Japanese painting on silk, 76 inches by 51 inches, climbed to $33,500; and a pair of majolica plaques, done in the manner of Benozzo Gozzoli (Italian, 1421-1497), 18 inches by 13 inches, made $42,550. Prices include a 15 percent buyer’s premium.
