NEW YORK – On Thursday, December 1, Capsule Auctions will present 20th Century Italian Glass, a sale of fine glass objects from a single private collection. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers. Offering designs by big names such as Venini and Barovier as well as designs by smaller houses, the sale acts as a survey of Murano glass-making across seven decades.

NEW YORK — The Whitney Museum of American Art has unveiled a new exhibition titled No Existe Un Mundo Poshuracan: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria. It brings together more than 50 works by an intergenerational group of 20 artists from Puerto Rico and the diaspora whose art has responded to the transformation brought on by Hurricane Maria — a category four storm that hit Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017. The exhibition will be on view through April 23, 2023.

US museum returns rare 1,000-year-old manuscript to Greece

ATHENS, Greece (AP) – A U.S. museum has returned a valuable 1,000-year-old Christian manuscript to a monastery in northern Greece it was looted from by Bulgarian forces more than a century ago, together with hundreds of other documents and artifacts.
