POTOMAC, Md. – To mark the centennial of artist Ellsworth Kelly (American, 1923-2015), Glenstone Museum will mount a major survey exhibition commemorating the artist’s seven-decade career. Ellsworth Kelly at 100 will be one of the largest retrospectives of Kelly’s work in the 21st century and the first traveling exhibition organized by Glenstone. It will open on May 4 and remain on view until March of 2024.

POTOMAC, Md. – Glenstone Museum will unveil Richard Serra’s 2017 sculpture Four Rounds: Equal Weight, Unequal Measure in a new building opening to the public on June 23.

Glenstone Museum to add building for large-scale work by Richard Serra

POTOMAC, Md. – Glenstone Museum today announced plans to construct a building specially conceived to house a major sculpture by American artist Richard Serra, extending the museum’s outdoor program of art, architecture, and landscape along its Woodland Trail. Designed as a collaboration between Richard Serra and Thomas Phifer of Thomas Phifer and Partners, architect of the Pavilions at Glenstone, the building will open in spring/summer 2022.
