Micro-cars and a Messerschmitt roll into Auction Team Breker Sept. 16

1962 Heinkel Trojan 200 micro-car, estimated at €10,000-€12,000 at Auction Team Breker.

COLOGNE, Germany — Antique calculating devices, photographic equipment, music boxes, Ford Model Ts and a trio of tiny automobiles lead the eclectic selection of items in the latest Auction Team Breker event, being held Saturday, September 16. Bidding is available at LiveAuctioneers.

Comprising three collections, the 500-plus lot sale is classic Breker, featuring scientific wonders from days past. A Saxonia 3 calculator dating to 1910, designed using stepped-drum technology, sits atop the many scientific machines in the sale. Breker has placed a €4,000€7,000 estimate on it.

Certain to turn heads are three petite cars, all vintage, all scarce, and all deaccessed from a Swedish motorcycle and car museum. First among them is a 1955 Messerschmitt KR200 Cabrio Kabinenroller, estimated at €25,000-€30,000. Designed by Fritz Fend and manufactured at the Messerschmitt factory in Regensburg, Germany, this three-wheeled example is a two-tone export version model, in restored condition and new paint, fitted with a Fichtel & Sachs single-cylinder two-stroke engine.

The two other micro-cars both date to 1962 and have red-painted chassis. The Heinkel Trojan 200 has an estimate of €10,000-€12,000, and the BMW Isetta 300 is estimated at €18,000-€20,000.

Vintage Fords comprise an important part of the sale, led by a 1909 Ford Model T Tourabout, a one-year-only model with a numbers-matching motor. It is estimated at €32,000-€45,000. In addition, the sale features a charming circa-1920 advertising poster picturing a fashionably dressed young woman behind the wheel below the phrase ‘Buy Your Wife a Ford.’ Its estimate is €800-€1,500.

Automatic music boxes are another significant section of the Breker auction. A circa-1898 Symphonion Pianophon 25 ¼in Duplex Disc Musical Box in excellent original condition with great sound is estimated at €30,000€40,000.

The current rate of exchange is €1 = $1.08.
