Love Preston Hall!
This is the second or third time I've purchased art work from Preston Hall. Ernest is so helpful and knowledgeable and honest in his assessments; he is a joy to deal with. They get great items and often you can get them at very reasonable price tags. I always look forward to seeing what's included in their auctions. I also like it that with works on paper, they typically take the items out of the frame and ship unframed in glassine envelopes. Ernest will absolutely research provenance questions for you as best as he can before the auction if you ask.

Owner & UPS Shipper working together?
Despite contacting PRESTON HALL GALLERY owner, Ernest on multiple occasions by email (HE WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS!), provenance was never given for the art I purchased. Despite the fact PRESTON HALL GALLERY owned the piece. I also contacted the ONLY U. P. S. shipper recommended by P. H. G. for an estimate, despite the fact I contacted them long before and was never given one until they were given the art by the P. H. G. several weeks later. Research on PRESTON HALL GALLERY has revealed multiple complaints of similar situations where other buyers have had the same problems. All leading me to believe I will now need to have my work authenticated by an outside expert. WARNING-PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS OF PRESTON HALL GALLERY BEFORE BIDDING! I WILL NEVER BID WITH THEM AGAIN!

The client's comments, in our view, are a bit unwarranted. Nevertheless, we value his feedback so that we can improve our performance. We were in constant contact with the client until his purchase was safely delivered to the shipper. We explained via email that we were unable to provide a shipping quote (as he was requesting) but that the shipper would be able to once they were in possession of the property. His item was delivered to the shipper on January 2nd (longer than we would have hoped for but the best we could arrange given the two intervening major holidays, Christmas and New Years, and the rainy weather.) We also explained to the client that we do not have any special arrangement with the UPS Store regarding pricing. Clients pay the shipper directly for their services. We never stated that we owned the item the client purchased, simply that we had a financial interest in the property. That is mentioned in the lot description. Provenance for the work was stated in the lot description, which also plainly states that additional provenance is not-or may not be-available, nor should clients expect any to be forthcoming. If we uncover additional substantive provenance we always provide it to the buyer as a courtesy. Clearly the client is mistaken when he says that "provenance was never given for the art I purchased." It is contained in the lot description for all bidders to read. What the client seems to be having a problem with is that we have not provided any additional provenance, such as he is wanting but which was never spoken about or promised prior to his bidding. We are proud of the fact that we are rated better than 92 % of our competitors and we will be reaching out to this client to see of we can turn his unpleasant experience into a good one. He paid promptly for his purchase and we would welcome him to bid with us in the future.

Excellent experience; I highly recommend Preston Hall.
Items are precisely as described. The auctioneers have a terrific collection of items with good provenance from important artists. The auctioneers are available to answer questions and extremely service-oriented. It is easy to pay and ship, their local carriers are also very responsive and competitive with their pricing. I have bid with them several times, and continue to return.

Get ready for an unexpected surprise!!!
I no longer wish to do any business with your company. I have purchased at other on-line auction sites and have never had to pay extra shipping fees. You have tremendous buyers premium fees that could include shipping. My last purchase cost more to ship than to purchase, AND it took several threatening phone calls and emails before someone would answer my questions. I'm done. Please, let your supervisor know that they did get over on me but that it won't happen again. I do not need a reply to this statement.
