Description
1678 Physics Atoms Philosophy of Gassendi Metaphysics Creation Existence of GOD
Pierre Gassendi was a 17th-century French philosopher and astronomer. He is most remembered for his philosophical views on skepticism and spiritual dogmas, all while formulating theories to bind Christianity and atomism. Gassendi warns against blinding accepting and following Aristotelian philosophy, but rather encourages the reader to explore and meditate on Aristotle’s theories.
This volume from the 1678 issue of the philosophical works of Gassendi was written by Francois Bernier. Bernier was mostly known for his medical practice, but he also spent time traveling, writing of his discoveries, and writing on historical empires. This volume covers microscopic discovery – the existence and movement of atoms, physics studies – movement and acceleration – creation, and even a section dedicated to the existence of God!
