Description
1678 Philosophy of Gassendi Metaphysics Psychology Emotion Animal Behavior Bernier
Pierre Gassendi was a 17th-century French philosopher and astronomer. He is most remembered for his philosophical views on skepticism and spiritual dogmas, all while formulating theories to bind Christianity and atomism. Gassendi warns against blinding accepting and following Aristotelian philosophy, but rather encourages the reader to explore and meditate on Aristotle’s theories.
This volume from the 1678 issue of the philosophical works of Gassendi was written by Francois Bernier. Bernier was mostly known for his medical practice, but he also spent time traveling, writing of his discoveries, and writing on historical empires. This volume covers philosophical and metaphysical concepts and principles – on anger and gentleness, love, hope, fear, and boldness. This volume also discusses animal lives and behavior.
