Description
Last will and testament of Thomas Bates, dated 1844 in Madison County, Kentucky. The document is signed by Levi Todd, believed by the consignor to be a relative of Mary Todd Lincoln (we could not establish a connection). In the will, Bates leaves eight named "negroes" to various members of his family.
