BRITISH TRANSFER-PRINTED FRATERNAL ORDER MOTIF CERAMIC TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, each featuring various symbolic imagery with overglaze polychrome hand-painted decorations, comprising a cylindrical mug with image of a sitting figure having "THE FREE MASONS ARM'S" printed below, an 8 3/4" D plate with polychrome central floral design and relief border decorations, two plates having central blue transfer scene with pink lustre rim depicting a standing figure with beehives and printed "Keep within compass / And you shall be sure. To avoid many troubles which others endure.", and a 6 1/8" D plate featuring a figure between two columns with "FREE MASONS ARMS" printed above. Unmarked. John King Knight, Fenton, England; Staffordshire and other areas. Mid 19th century. 3 1/8" HOA.
Undamaged except for a few minute flakes. Some with minor usage wear and manufacturing flaws including mug with glazed over firing separation to lower handle terminal, as made.
