NORTHEASTERN DECORATED STONEWARE INKSTANDS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each having circular form with central ink reservoir, comprising one example with one quill hole and one example with three quill holes and clamshell-form cut-off lines to underside of base. Each having cobalt decoration to top including one with three brushed areas to edge and one with slip-trailed dot design. First half 19th century. 1 1/2" H, 3" D rim and 1 3/4" H, 3 3/8" D rim.
Mostly undamaged except one quill hole example with minor light hairline extending from ink reservoir. Some manufacturing flaws including glazed over flakes to quill hole edge, as made.
