U.S. Colonial Currency, Connecticut. 2 Shillings and 6 Pence, July 1, 1780 (Fr-CT236). One of the signers (John Chester) was a member of the Continental Congress. Another signer (William Pitkin IV) was a revolutionary War Colonel, and with his brother George Pitkin ran what is believed to be the country's first gunpowder mill.
