This lot consists of a framed oil painting on canvas, done in the Impressionist landscape style of Alfred Sisley (French-British, 1839-1899). Image depicts a warm pastoral scene with deep, muddy grooves that stretch and bend toward a bright horizon. Reminiscent of a fresh spring day, or a late summer's morning. Hand-painted inscription at lower right corner reads, "Sisley - 73". This framed piece measures approximately 17.5" x 24".

Reverse side of piece features some age-related wear, and an affixed wax seal.

Alfred Sisley (French-British, 1839-1899) was born to British parents and spent most of his life in France. Upon becoming acquainted with the likes of Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Sisley took to plein-air landscape painting. These collaborations resulted in more colorful and broadly-painted pieces than had previously been seen.
