Anglo-Indian. Late 19th Century. Standing four square, draped with a cloth, inlaid and etched with foliage, birds, dancers, musicians and a pair of vacant coat of arms. Height 35 1/2". Length 47 1/2". Supported by a stepped teakwood stand inlaid with ivory highlighted processions. Height 14 1/2". Length 54 1/4". Depth 23". Overall height 62". Note: According to current owner, originally there was a pair in the residence of the Maharaja of Hyderabad. After the Second World War, the pair was moved to Switzerland where they were exhibited in a restaurant. In an eventual fire, one was destroyed and this one was rescued from the destruction.
