At the E'cole des Beaux Arts he began winning art competitions for the depictions of architecture so he studied this form until 1937 before returning to Shanghai. Upon his return he devoted himself to his artworks and displayed these artworks across the country. His artworks were highly influenced by Kluge time living in the French Quarter as he was addicted to life in Paris so in 1950 he moved to Paris once and for all.
