Description
Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A gorgeous glass bottle of an attractive, near-miniature form and a beautiful cobalt blue hue. The vessel has a piriform body, a cylindrical neck, and a gently flaring lip. Thick layers of brilliant rainbow iridescence in hues of hot pink, violet, gold, champagne, aqua, and ice blue envelop the petite bottle and nicely complement the sapphire-blue color. Size: 3.25" H (8.3 cm)
Provenance: East Coast collection, NY, acquired from Dr. Robert Deutsch Archaeological Center, Old Jaffa, Israel (accompanied by export document)
