Wonderful 19th century Columbia NY fire department display of cabinet photos. There are 51 4" by 6" cabinet photos of fire department personnel, 39 of which are holding their fire helmets and or horns. The Station has a sign Columbia 1875, and the helmets have Columbia at the top wtih Hose underneath. Each of the helmets have the ink initials of the person in the photo. In the center is a 11" by 9" cabinet photo showing a Horse Drawn Hose Reel in front of the Columbia Fire Station. This is a large Fire Deprtament and maybe for Columbia Co. New York. This was recovered outside of Binghampton New York. The photos are housed in a large frame with gesso design around the edges and a pebble finish. Each of the photos has a cut wood backing. There is loss and wear to the gesso. The frame measures 69" by 48". An impressive and historical 19th century photographic archive. Very Good
