Description

PIERCED SHEET IRON AND BLOWN MOLDED PANEL WHALE OIL LANTERN, small ring strap handle, pierced stars to top and base, conical-form eight-panel fixed colorless globe with wire guard, removable base with bayonet mechanism and fitted with font, No. 1 inset collar. Fitted with a brass and tin double-tube burner. Mid 19th century. 13 1/4" HOA, 11" H to top of cap, 4 3/8" D base.

Provenance: The Phillip M. Sullivan estate collection.

Condition

Good condition with minor denting, detachment and repairs to wire guard, globe undamaged. Burner with a minute loss to edge and burners with minute rust.
