STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC WASH PITCHER AND BASIN, each featuring "Upper Ferry Bridge / over the / River Schuylkill", as printed to underside, depicting an extensive bridge over a river, figures, wagons, and boats in the surrounding landscape, and spread eagle and scroll border decoration. Joseph Stubbs, Longport, England. 1822-1835. 10 1/4" HOA, basin 12 3/4" D rim.

Condition
Pitcher undamaged; basin with two rim hairlines, one having associated bruise, and a very light radial hairline to underside that does not appear to go through to interior. Manufacturing flaws including pitcher having firing separation to underside of foot, as made.
