STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATE, featuring "GILPIN'S MILLS / ON THE BRANDYWINE CREEK", as printed to underside, depicting a group of buildings overlooking a creek surrounded by trees, having bold shell border decoration. Additional marks to underside include a printed American eagle and shield with banner having "E PLURIBUS UNUM", impressed "WOO[D]" and "N". Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 9 1/4" D.
