A Veracruz Figural Vessel Cerro de las Mesas, East Mexico, c. 300-600 AD Earthenware with burnished red-brown slip, half of the cap a red color, a burnished brown slip on the face. The figure seated with crossed legs and hands to knees. The large opening on the back creates a vessel with a tubular spout or handle. Provenance: A Private Collection, New York, NY, acquired in 2002 Mermoz Gallery, Paris Ex-private European collection, acquired before 1975 Height: 10 inches
