Miao Apron, China, Early-Mid 20th C. Apron with a wide cotton waistband with ties of patterned weave ribbon, silk satin side panels and a center panel of discontinuous supplementary weft brocading in silk with cotton fringe at hem. New indigo cloth at top, commercial purple satin bottom panel. Miao People, Eastern Guizhou Province, Taijiang County, China. Size: 27.5'' x 23.5'', 70 x 60 cm (not including ties). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
