Description
Tortoise Shell Silver Mounted Sewing Box, 19th c., the sloping lid over ogee sides, the interior with a purple silk lining, the interior of the lid fitted for sewing tools, H.- 2 3/4 in., W.- 8 1/4 in., D.- 4 3/8 in. Provenance: The Collection of Ronald Ralpheal Levert, proprietor of Goudeau Antiques, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Condition
Miniscule hairline cracks behind hinges. Small area of cracking to proper left rear of top of lid. Minor denting to keyhole of escutcheon. No loss to shell, bone, or interior velvet/fabric. A Handsome example. __________________________________________________________________________
