Ancient Greece, Athens, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. A delightful pottery kylix displaying a rounded bottom and thick walls that rise to a broad, flared rim, all sitting upon a conical foot. A pair of arched handles flank the bowl, each featuring 2 protruding nodules on either side. The ancient piece is adorned with a lustrous black paint forming a target motif at the center of the shallow basin and enveloping the entirety of the exterior, save thick, horizontal band of bare red terracotta featured just below the rim.
