Description
Mahogany tall-case clock, late 18th to early 19th century. The bonnet with a very fine swan neck broken pediment with 3 brass finials over arched door flanked by 2 delicate fluted columns. The face is signed "W. Ash / Lan'cry" and is surrounded by hand painted flowers and leaves. The case with line inlays, the door with serpentine crest and shell inlay within oval - the center of the base also with shell inlay within oval, and the clock mounted on a molded bracket base which appears to be original. Small loss to the backside of one column near the brass base, weights not original, and overall good refinished condition. Pendulum and key are present and appear to be original. Note - this clock directly from an estate in Wilton Ct., appears complete but is sold as non-working. 85 3/4"H x 19"W x 9 1/4"D.
