Description
Either George, Jonathan/John or William Womersley (English, Huddersfield, active late 18th to early 19th century), circa 1800, mahogany and mahogany veneered tall case clock, having patera inlay, the hood with swan neck pediment, the moon phase with landscape scene, floral spandrels, Roman numerals, birds, seconds hand and calendar aperture to the dial, Gothic arch moulding to the door, and rising on bracket feet., marked "Womersley " and "Huddersfield" to the dial. Provenance: From the Estate of Jack R. Kelly JR. Approx. 99", w. 21.5", d. 10.5".
Condition
Some minor non-distracting veneer buckling to hood, face needs to be shifted slightly left, left brass upper capital is detached but stays in place, scattered surface dents typical of age, base section with crack to left of front moulding, cracks to sides with burn/stain to left side, cannot attach pendulum, unable to test, would recommend professional servicing, weights, and keys are present
