GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER CANDLE SNUFFER / WICK TRIMMER, hinged scissors form with openwork handles and raised on three short feet, blade lifts as snuffer closes, top of snuffer box featuring an engraved heraldic double-headed creature. Interior of snuffer box with "WB" maker's mark for Wilkes Booth and four hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard's head city mark for London, an "S" date mark for 1793, and a King George III duty mark, flat edge of snuffer with a maker's mark and lion passant hallmark. Total weight: 4.030 ozt. Circa 1793. 6 3/4" LOA.

Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, top edge of one handle with a dent, feet with a few minute dents to bases, some polish residue, mechanism working properly.
