1987 Fender custom shop 57 Stratocaster Guitar. First year that the Fender Custom Shop opened. This make this 57 strat especially rare as not many guitars were made in the first year. This 57 reissue must have been made by the Custom Shop because of the 11 hole (one additional hole was added) 62 body style and the gold anodized pickguard which was very rare at that time. SERIAL NUM: V037824. POT CODES: 1378725, 25th week of 1987. Original solder joints and 3-way switch. NECK: 57 reissue, pencil dated 6-1-87, neck has a 7.25 radius, slim c shape. WEIGHT: 8lbs 2ozs (3kg, 630g) BODY: is a beautiful cream nitrocellulose finish "Fender Custom Shop" stamp emblem in the neck pocket along with "B. Martinez" and a penciled signature that is difficult to read, also in the tremolo cavity is stamped "J. Andrade" and "PES 6/14/87" in marker. This guitar is in exceptional shape for its age, being 35 years old. The hardware has very light patina. There is an additional pickguard screw hold on the body as well as an additional strap button on the lower horn, possibly done by the Custom Shop. Based on the condition this guitar has hardly been played. This guitar comes with original case and keys, bridge cover and tremolo arm, extra tremolo spring packet, leather 50s strap and gray cable, manuals and unopened polish cloth. Case measures approx. 41.5in x 14.5in x 4.25in overall. This guitar would make an excelled addition to any shop, collection or home.
