Description
DESCRIPTION: A Rare Japanese Shibayama platter features in a rectangular form in an overall gilt lacquered base. finely inlaid with mother-of-pearl, abalone, Coral, and other stones. The center depiction shows a group of cranes enveloped within a series of multi-inlaid foliage and fruits, further accented with flying pigeons along a mountainous clouded backdrop.
CIRCA: Early 20th Cent.
