Description
The Columbia No. 2 typewriter was invented by Charles Spiro and produced in New York circa 1885. The Columbia was short lived and produced only 3 models and production ceased about 1889. This is serial No. 668. In overall good original condition. The celluloid index chart is intact but has some wear. Plating is above average. Platen in good condition. Mech functions properly. Comes with original wood carrying case in fair condition. Box has carrying handle, broken lock with no key, and someone has cut a slot in the top of the case for possible use as a ballot box.
