Description

A Regency parcel ebonized mahogany tall case clock
Samuel Allport, Birmingham
early 19th century
The dial inscribed ALLPORT BIRMINGHAM, the twin train movement striking on a bell.
height 97 3/4in (248cm); width 24in (61cm); depth 10in (25.5cm)

Condition

Structurally sound. With a red brown tone to the highly figured timber. General marks, nicks, scratches, shrinkage cracking and wear. Notable horizontal cracks to top of case. Yellowing, crazing and loss of surface to dial. Glass to bonnet door cracked in a number of plates. Working condition unknown and not guaranteed.
