Pair of Ancient Egyptian Carvings ca. Late Dynastic Period 1085-332 B.C. Scarce Egyptian carvings:
1.) Faience dolphin head emerging from a lotus blossom 2" in length. Dolphins did not feature much in Ancient Egyptian culture except that they were associated with the Goddess Isis. They were regarded as aspects of her hidden power, intuition and resurrection.
2.) Limestone head of a Nile perch or some see a duck. 2½" in length, the novelty lays in examining the eyes and slope of head.
