An 1844 Memorial to Garret Lothidge
wife and two children grieve him. These prints were bought by families and they would add the pertinent death information and hang them in their houses out of respect for the dead. Very rarely would the scene be of the actual burial place. Ink and watercolor on paper 12.5” x 16.5” In original frame.
Exhibited at the Cahoon Museum of American Art, CELEBRATION OF LIFE exhibit- 2011.
