Original Civil War Albumen of View of Manchester Mills and Two Pontoon Bridges Crossing the James River April 15 1865 in Richmond Virginia Photograph. Likely taken by Andrew J. Russell and not published due to extensive plate image damage omitting the tops of the mill buildings. A second photograph was taken by him the same day and is the one seen in the Library of Congress. Large image is 12-3/8 x 8-1/8" mounted on original 14" x 11" studio card. Notation on front of card with pencil "569 Pontoon Bridge, James River" and on rear "529" Edge wear to corners with a small chips to edges of studio card.
