Edited by Holme, Charles 'Daumier and Gavarni, Published by Offices of the Studio 44, London 1904. Critical and biographical notes by Henri Frantz and Octave Uzanne. Special issue of the Revue Studio dedicated to Daumier and Gavarni. Over 80 illustrated plates. Cloth and marbled boards, gilt lettering. 3.5lbs. Acquired from the estate of George Longstreet, a renown collector of fine original illustrations and prints, and whose collection has appeared in dozens of museums and exhibits over the last four decades. In 1976, Armand Hammer acquired 5000 Daumier objects that George Longstreet began to amass in Paris more than 50 years ago. The Daumier collection is now part of the permanent collection in the Armand Hammer Wing of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Condition
Very good condition, slightly edgeworn, gilt is dulled at spine, and penned over. Longstreet's bookplate on pastedown, and blind embossed stamps on endpaper and title page. (PHB370;107)
