Mathew Brady Gelatin Silver Photo of General Sheridan and Staff 1864
Original Mathew Brady gelatin silver photograph of General Philip H. Sheridan and his Headquarters Staff, taken in 1864 with the General standing on porch steps, holding his officer's sword. At this time, Sheridan had been recruited by Ulysses S. Grant to serve as Head of Cavalry for the Army of the Potomac in the East. 8.125" x 6.5" photo is mounted to Brady's mat measuring approximately 8.5" x 7" and framed to 13.25" x 11.5". Not examined out of frame. Some uniform toning, but the photo remains richly contrasted. Very good plus condition and ready for display.
