⁂ A good group of these scarce and attractive calendars with excellent association inscriptions from an author whose work was published by Hasegawa to her fellow teacher of music in Japan. Emily Patton arrived in Japan from Australia where she had worked as a music teacher with Ada Bloxham as one of her students. Bloxham subsequently travelled to London to continue her studies before returning to Australia and then travelling to Japan where she taught Tonic Sol-fa with Emily Patton.
