Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier was a French writer, illustrator and history painter. Around 1780 he was the official painter of the king of France.
This 19th century French engraving shows Amazili and Télasco, two Mexican characters who are trying to get out of the palace that was burned and attacked by the Spaniards. It shows the history of the decline of the Inca Empire.
